Infested: 1000 doors

07/06/10  ||  Kampfar

Due to me being uglier than the decomposed corpse of a hobo who spent his whole life collecting diseases, all I ever get to fuck are chicks sporting yeast infested cunts wide enough to park jumbo-jets in. Just kidding, celibacy sprinkled with the occasional wank rules supreme. And then some. The bullshit intro serving no purpose is done for – hurray! – so don’t be surprised if you encounter factual information and proper reviewing from here on and in. You fucking anal-dildo.

I’m offensive on par with a pedophile, high and hard on cocaine and Viagra, touring kindergartens whilst wanking his drug-infused erection all the way to massive eruptions. Yes, impressive to the core I am. German death metal, on the other hand, isn’t that impressive. Infested and their “1000 doors” is of course utterly noteworthy all the way to hell, I love you guys, but in general ze Germans gets it all wrong when trying to create tunes of death.

Make that music in general.

Infested started out in 2000, called it quits in 2009, and during this time they managed to release two full-lengths, three demos, and one split. Both of the full ones are of the quality kind – their other shit I know nothing about – but it is fucking safe to claim that “…Until it breaks down again” pales in comparison with what them here dudes released just before disbanding. The first mentioned platter is not a fuckload of miles away from being a standardized attack of br00tal death, pig-vocals all the way, but fuck me in the gallbladder with an Otto if we aren’t talking (brutal) death with a twist nonetheless.

“1000” doors is more like an “ordinary” fest of death with a few pinches of br00tal flavor added. Pig-vocals, for instance, are nowhere to heard on this swan-song not made by Carcass. The relentless nature of their game, however, stayed the exact same throughout their semi-lengthy career. Shitty writing aside, what differs the two albums I’m nagging on about, fuck you, is the level of finesse and refinement put into the latter. Vigor and enthusiasm speaks for both, dedication too, but when recording their debut they simply weren’t skilled enough to pull off what they later did.

A skill level above the norm often invites hefty wankery and wads of pretentiousness into the equation, Canadian tech death alone proving my point, but since often isn’t always exceptions such as this are bound to exist.

Give this one a go if brutal creativity suits your style.
